About Us

Welcome to Hawaiʻi; one of the most unique places on Earth.

Did you know Hawaiʻi is home to over 1,400 different species of plants? Over 90% exist nowhere else!

Our experiences offer you the opportunity to meet some of these plants while learning about their cultural and environmental importance.

Why choose us?

Our passion for Native Hawaiian ecosystems has led us to offer experiences that not only indulge in the unique flora of Hawaiʻi but also yields a positive impact on our island community.

Though Hawaiʻi is the most isolated place on earth, fostering unique species found nowhere else, its eco-systems are severely damaged.

Hawaiʻi holds the title of the invasive species capital of the world and endangered species capital of the world.

Without precise action, Hawaiʻi and its unique beauty are at extreme risk.

We work with partners that are actively working on the front line of habitat restoration, species preservation, and Hawaiian cultural expression. We believe in these organization’s mission and want you to experience it first hand

  • Dustin Paradis

    CO-FOUNDER

Dustin Paradis was born and raised in the rural southern coast of Oregon. It is here where he found a deep love for the land and the sea. Throughout his twenties he attended university studying biology and chemistry and traveled throughout many regions of the world exploring culture, food, and nature.

Moving to Maui in 2016, Dustin fell deeper in love with the mysticysm the natural world offered; with the treasure trove of unique plant species, geological features, and marine animals Hawaiʻi has, he dove in head first.

Working as a project manager for a marine conservation non-profit, Dustin is passionate about perpetuating the unique flora, fauna, and culture Hawaiʻi offers. Through Restore Maui LLC, he hopes to spread awareness to the environmental issues Hawaii is facing, empower conservation groups, and help bring tourism closer to what makes Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi.

  • Dave Pollmiller

    CO-FOUNDER

Dave grew up in the sprawling suburbs west of Kansas City, Kansas. Always a nature kid at heart, he spent a fair amount of his youth totally infatuated with fishing in ponds and romping around in creeks just a short, 10 minute bike ride from his family’s home.

Dave moved to Maui, Hawaii in 2013 longing to experience other parts of the world. For him, the way into Maui was working on organic farms. The farm life came naturally to him and from 2013 until now, farming and gardening is all he’s done.

In 2020 Dave started an edible landscaping business in Maui called Harvest Garden LLC. The focus of this business is to serve Maui’s homeowners with growing healthy food at home mixed in with, or replacing, “traditional” ornamental landscaping. In 2022 he co-founded the Tropical Fungi Academy which focuses on teaching mushroom identification & cultivation to those living in tropical areas worldwide (with an emphasis on Hawaii).

One of Dave’s favorite things in the world right now (besides a good dance party) is meeting new plants that he has only read about or seen pictures of. Especially those endemic to the Hawaiian archipelago.
